How Sweep It Is: Clippers rout 76ers to run win streak to five
The Clippers never looked threatened in Sunday's win as they moved to 11-7 on the season.
Outside of the opening few moments, Sunday’s 125-99 win by the LA Clippers over the Philadelphia 76ers was not competitive. One team played like a squad riding a four-game winning streak and the other looked like they had the second-worst record in the NBA.
The final 43 minutes saw the Clippers enjoy a double-digit lead, including holding as much as a 33-point edge at one point, and the final result was the Clippers sweeping the season series with the 76ers for the first time since the 2015-16 season.
“I thought we made the simple plays, getting to the paint, making the right play, sharing the basketball, getting out early in transition,” Clippers coach Tyronn Lue said after his team’s fifth straight win.
The Clippers raced out to a 32-13 lead on Sunday, buoyed by their excellent defense and the play of James Harden, who ended the night with 23 points and 8 assists in just 27 minutes as he sat the final 14 minutes with the Clippers firmly in control.
