Paul George gets icy reception, loss in return to Los Angeles
The Clippers moved to 4-4 with Wednesday's victory.
INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- The tribute video lasted 50 seconds.
Fifty seconds for five years of memories.
Boiling anything down when you have that little time is tough, but Paul George was grateful for the gesture.
“It was awesome,” George said of the video to reporters in the locker room following Wednesday’s game. “I’ve always said this organization was first class and it was very appreciated.”
George’s departure from the Clippers in free agency this offseason was a popular subject on sports talk shows and the like, with George’s insistence on a max contract taking center stage—something the Clippers would not give him.
What the Clippers did give him on Wednesday night was a loss, sending his new team, the Philadelphia 76ers, to a 1-6 start and tied for the worst record in the NBA.
