The LA Clippers have acquired guard Bogdan Bogdanovic from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for forward Terance Mann and guard Bones Hyland, a source has confirmed to Russo Writes. The deal was first reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania. The Clippers also acquired three second-round picks from Atlanta in the deal.

Bogdanovic is in the second year of a four-year, $68 million contract.

The Clippers gained some flexibility in this trade as they opened up a roster spot, putting them at 14 players under guaranteed contract. The team is now $2.4 million under the luxury tax and $9.7 million under the first apron hard cap that they are restricted to.

Bogdanovic, 32, is averaging career worsts in points (10.0), rebounds (2.8), assists (2.0), field-goal shooting (37.1), and three-point shooting (30.1).

The hope is that Bogdanovic can refind some of the successes from recent years when the guard finished top-six in Sixth Man of the Year voting twice in the previous three seasons.
