LA Clippers select Yanic Konan Niederhauser with No. 30 overall pick in 2025 NBA Draft
The Penn State center was the last choice in the first round.
LOS ANGELES -- The LA Clippers chose Penn State center Yanic Konan Niederhauser with the No. 30 overall selection in the first round of Wednesday’s 2025 NBA Draft.
Konan Niederhauser averaged 12.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks for a Nittany Lions squad that went 16-15 last season.
The center stole the show in the lead-up to the Draft as he starred at the G League Elite Camp to earn an invite to the NBA Draft Combine where he measured in at 6’11” without shoes, tying for the seventh-tallest measurement in the draft.
Konan Niederhauser also measured in with a 9’3” standing reach, tied for the fourth-tallest reach, and a 7’3” wingspan, good for the ninth-longest.
The Swiss national put up 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks in one of the G League Elite Camp games, following it up with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 block in the next contest.
Konan Niederhauser played professionally in Germany as a teenager before making the jump to college.
The center is the first Penn State player ever selected in the first round.
Konan Niederhauser brings a run-and-jump profile to the Clippers, who desperately sought a backup center to fill in when Ivica Zubac needs a rest. The Penn State product had 39 dunks this past season, playing as an above-the-rim center and lob threat that led the Big 10 in block rate and was in the top ten in offensive rebound rate.
The 22-year-old has played at the youth, junior, and senior national team levels with Switzerland in FIBA competitions and seems poised to have a chance at being the team’s backup center when camp breaks.
