Clippers learn lesson from season-opening loss, throttle Suns for first win

INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- After Wednesday’s 21-point season-opening loss, LA Clippers coach Tyronn Lue sat at the podium in the cramped road press conference room deep in the bowels of Delta Center, and said, “I just think it’s a lesson to be learned.”
Turns out, maybe the Clippers’ head man was onto something.
Powered by James Harden’s electric first half -- the future Hall of Fame guard scored 26 of his game-high 30 points in the opening two frames -- and Derrick Jones Jr.’s hot outside shooting -- Jones was a perfect 5-for-5 on 3s -- the LA Clippers throttled the Phoenix Suns, 129-102, to notch their first win, a mere 48 hours after a disastrous start to the season.
