Harden, Powell, Zubac lead way as Clippers surge in second half
The trio combined for 74 points, 26 rebounds, and 17 assists.
When Paul George departed in free agency this past offseason, the LA Clippers lost a third star and someone who could shoulder a large portion of the burden if others were out. But they may have gained two new ones in the process.
Norman Powell and Ivica Zubac, both enjoying career years, aided James Harden on Thursday night as the Clippers powered their way to a 118-95 road win over the Dallas Mavericks.
“[It] makes our team better,” Harden told reporters in the locker room postgame when asked what it means when the trio plays well.
“We share the basketball, everybody is playing unselfish, we shoot our shots, which I think we had a lot of them that we felt we should have made. But for us, it’s just making the easy pass and living with the results.”
The Clippers can live with tonight’s result as it catapulted them to a 16-12 record and put them 1½ games back of fourth place in an admittedly jumbled Western Conference.
