Delta Center has been somewhat of a House of Horrors for the LA Clippers ever since it was constructed in the fall of 1991.

The first 39 times that the Clippers took the floor inside that now 34-year-old building, they could only scratch one measly victory. Yes, one. It came on Jan. 22, 2003. The Clippers, behind Elton Brand, Lamar Odom, Andre Miller, and Corey Maggette, toppled the Jazz, who were led by, you guessed it, Karl Malone and John Stockton.

That win snapped a streak of 22 consecutive losses in the arena. And, after that triumph, the Clippers would go on to lose another 16 in a row. A disastrous 1-38 beginning in that building. Woof.

But things have changed since then, and Tuesday night was another reminder of just how much. Malone and Stockton are no longer there, obviously, which helps. Not to mention that both franchises have undergone numerous facelifts.

This latest meeting saw the Clippers (22-24) rally from an early 11-point first-quarter deficit to knock off the Jazz (15-32), 115-103, thanks to a 41-16 frenzy that spanned 11 minutes from the end of the second quarter to late in the third. It was the team’s 16th win in their last 19 games, continuing what has been an otherworldly run of form.

“I think we started playing defense, getting out in transition, and we just started making shots, sharing the ball, making wide-open 3s, and we took off from there,” forward Kawhi Leonard said in his walk-off interview with NBC following his 21-point outing.
