Few positives to be found after rough night against Bulls, Clippers say
The team's four-game winning streak has come to an end.
INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- Defeat is a bitter pill to swallow, and for the LA Clippers on Monday night, they were dealt a helping of medicine en route to a 112-99 loss at the hands of the Chicago Bulls, thus ending the Clippers’ four-game winning streak.
“I don’t see any positives out of this game,” Clippers coach Tyronn Lue said after the team’s first loss in 12 days.
The Clippers came out lethargic without both Kawhi Leonard and Ivica Zubac, at one point having just 10 points through the first 10 minutes of the first quarter as they fell behind 20-10 to Chicago.
While the Clippers did turn things around and ultimately led going into halftime, and even pulled ahead 55-50 early in the third quarter, it wasn’t meant to be as any offensive firepower they looked for was nowhere to be found, mainly due to the lack of energy and pace that the Clippers played with on the night.
