Harden, Powell put forth All-Star cases as they propel Clippers to win over Giannis, Bucks
The backcourt combined for 73 points in the triumph.
INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- Few backcourts in the NBA can match the gusto and sheer firepower the LA Clippers possess thanks to James Harden and Norman Powell.
On Saturday night, against a team that boasts its own dynamic duo, it was Harden and Powell who led the Clippers to a 127-117 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Harden scored 15 straight to end the third quarter, giving the Clippers a one-point lead heading to the fourth. Harden would finish with 40 on the night, the veteran guard’s third time this season scoring at least that number.
“James was spectacular,” Clippers coach Tyronn Lue said after the team’s sixth win in their last eight games. “I thought he got us off to a good start in that first quarter, late in that first quarter, and then in the third and fourth he was huge.”
