Jordan Miller talks progress, hopes after helping Clippers win in preseason finale
The second-year do-it-all forward had his first ever podium game.
INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- Jordan Miller, the LA Clippers’ forward who seems destined to begin this upcoming season on a two-way contract for the second year in a row, enthusiastically said in the locker room after Thursday’s victory that he had never done a podium presser in his professional career.
That would quickly change as the lanky 24-year-old walked down the corridor to the Clippers’ press conference room, shuffling up the steps in his charcoal-colored hoodie as the brightly lit room attempted to reach the level he had shone throughout his time on the floor that night.
What came next lasted only five minutes, yet it might be the most crucial five minutes out of a Clippers player in the entire preseason.
“Role-wise, it’s been a little complicated,” Miller stated when asked if the team has talked to him about what they expected out of him this season. “Obviously, we have a full roster. P.J. [Tucker] stepped away, but you never know what happens with that. Only thing I’m really focused on is how I can get better.”
