PHOENIX -- Tyronn Lue came into his postgame media session following Tuesday’s 119-117 loss in a mood befitting a man not eager to talk.

And why would he be eager?

The LA Clippers had blown a 23-point lead on the road against the Phoenix Suns, seemingly turning a season that appeared poised to be going in a promising direction just three weeks ago into one that was careening off a cliff as the team has lost six of seven since the All-Star break.

Lue mentioned after the game that he didn’t say anything to the team in the locker room following the loss. But that also isn’t anything new for the coach as he usually doesn’t address the team following wins or losses, a common practice for some coaches around the league.

“I ain’t say nothing,” Lue said. “I never talk [to the team] after the game.”

The lack of communication is understandable. What do you even say after this?

“Play the game the right way, play through the game, whatever works, whatever the defense gives, you take it and not force, not do dumb shit,” expounded Lue. “It’s that simple. Just play through the game. That’s all you gotta do.”

Tuesday’s loss marked the sixth time this season the Clippers have lost three games in a row. But with the nature of this loss, it’s most certainly the low point of the season.

“This one, you just can’t give this game away,” Lue stated. “It’s the same thing. Blueprint’s the same way. All four games [against Phoenix], up double figures, up big, and they come back, storm back in the fourth quarter and make a game of it.”
