Plum, Sparks force Aces to go bust in big win

It’s been a truly historic start to the season for Kelsey Plum.
On Saturday night, just off the hustle and bustle of the Las Vegas Strip, Plum managed to do something that had only been achieved by the truly great players in the league.
Plum’s 38-point explosion, which lifted the Los Angeles Sparks to a crucial road win against the Aces as they secured a 101-95 victory to move to 3-3 on the season, was already the fifth time that the guard netted at least 25 points in a game this season, making her one of three players in league history to do that within her team’s first six games, joining Hall of Famers Maya Moore and Elena Della Donne.
“I’m just trying to go out and be super patient and really just take what the defense gives,” Plum would say postgame. The 31-year-old also notched 9 assists on the night and secured 4 rebounds. Plum also ended any chance Las Vegas (4-2) had by coming up with a crucial steal in the game’s waning moments.
