I’ve been writing about sports for as long as I can honestly remember. It’s something I always enjoyed to do because it allowed me to get my ideas, opinions and thoughts out of my own head. I originally started writing about the LA Clippers back around 2010, but obviously followed a lot earlier than that.
Along the way I’ve written at a few places — most notably ClipsNation. I had my own personal blog, ‘But The Game Is On: The Beat’ before venturing into the world of actually considering to cover a team full-time, which is what I (attempt) to do now.
If you can believe it, my first foray into the independent coverage world started way back on Medium and then, as I’m sure most of the people here know, expanded to Patreon, which is where I’ve been for the last several years.
The reason I’ve ventured on from Patreon and ended up here at Substack is a very simple one: ease. Patreon was a great platform, but Substack is an easier one that allows me to flesh out stories in a timelier manner. Patreon was perfect for multimedia stuff. Here, at Substack, I most likely won’t be doing much video breakdown work or things like that. It’s purely writing (for the most part).
You could be here for a few reasons. Maybe you love the Clippers and want to support independent coverage. If so, I immensely thank you for that. Maybe you just wanted to see what I’m up to next. No, that’s probably not. It’s probably the Clippers stuff. Either way, I thank you for your support and commitment to keeping me going on this journey.
